Irate fans reportedly showed up at Matt Schaub’s home Tuesday night and confronted the Houston Texans quarterback about his poor play this season.

According to CBS Houston, the police were called to Schaub’s home after angry fans “berated” the quarterback and took pictures of his family members.

A source close to law enforcement tells Sports Radio 610 Houston that “a fan went to his house and told him off,” adding that another fan then “took pictures of his family.” The pictures were allegedly posted on Facebook.

The source claims that the fans left before police arrived and Schaub, who has a wife and three young daughters, contacted NFL security which asked for assistance from the Houston Police Department after the incident.

The 32-year-old quarterback is not the most popular guy in town these days. His rough start has contributed to the team’s 2-3 record and has the Texans sitting at third place in the AFC South.

On Sunday, he set an NFL record by throwing an interception returned for a touchdown in his fourth consecutive game. That added fuel to the already enraged fans who have been burning Schaub jerseys and sending him hateful tweets.

The quarterback responded by shutting down his Twitter account, Fox Sports reports.

If Schaub doesn’t lose his job in the coming weeks, the fans may run him out of town. But they need to get a grip instead of rushing it, because T.J. Yates doesn’t look like he is ready to lead the team to the Promised Land.
