Are Michael Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones back together? A British tabloid claimed that they were on Monday, but another report says otherwise.

Back in August, Zeta-Jones’ rep confirmed that the two were taking a break from their 13-year marriage. “Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage,” her rep said at the time.

Douglas later tried to calm down the press and fans by saying that there was no crisis at home. “ No, I think the press has a crisis. We are fine. My wife and I are fine,” he said at the time. At the Emmys, he also referred to Zeta-Jones as his wife, although Zeta-Jones was not there as she attended an event in China.

Then on Tuesday, Britain’s The Sun cited a source that said they are back together already, reports The Daily Mail. “Michael’s asked Catherine to give things another try and she’s agreed,” the source said. “It’s not just for the sake of the children.”

The source added, “When they’re good, they’re amazing together, so they’re hammering out their issues at their home. It’s good news and Catherine is on top of the world.”

But People is now reporting that this is not the case. “They're not back together,” People’s source says. “People are getting ahead of themselves.”

Douglas was at the Emmys to pick up his Outstanding Lead Actor in a Movie or Miniseries for Behind The Candelabra. Zeta-Jones was recently in Red 2.
