Ariana Grande is now happily dating The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes, but someone from her past is now revealing more than she would likely want him to on Twitter.

The Yours Truly singer’s ex-boyfriend, Jai Brooks, posted a very lengthy Twitter message on Monday claiming that Grande cheated on him. She didn’t take it lying down and has since fought back.

He started off the message saying “Yes I was cheated on. Yes it does suck. Yes I was left for another man. And this happens everyday to so many people of every age, gender, race. I happen to be one of those people and I'm in a situation where I am constantly reminded of it every day.”

Brooks went on to directly address Sykes, saying “Nathan may be a top bloke or a sweet person, but what he did was just completely wrong. He interfered with my life and did not respect my relationship, his actions caused me to not be able to sleep at night and not see the world as a beautiful place,” even writing, “Nathan if you read this, when you hold her hand you better hold it tight because you are holding my world.”

Brooks told his followers that he isn’t making it up, and wrote “just know I would never make up a lie about something like this, it's far too serious.”

But Grande responded by tweeting a series of comments, starting with:

She continued, “I'm going to be the lady my mother raised and carry myself with class and dignity... But I will never be any man's press opportunity.” After a few more posts she wrote “I'm finally happy. Words can't hurt me anymore.”

Grande and Sykes confirmed their relationship at the end of last month, previously working together on a duet called “Almost is Never Enough."
