Actress Ashley Judd rushed to estranged husband Dario Franchitti’s side after his scary crash at Houston’s Grand Prix Sunday. Judd supported Franchitti on Twitter, giving fans updates as she made her way to the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
As the Associated Press notes, Franchitti broke his right ankle, fractured two vertebrae and suffered a concussion after the crash, in which his car went airborne. Pieces of the car flew into the stands, injuring 13 people and an IndyCar official.
According to Us Weekly, Judd thanked fans for praying for Franchitti and confirmed that she was going to visit him in the hospital. Franchitti has also tweeted updates and thank you messages to fans.
Thank you for the prayers for @dariofranchitti I have only clothes on my back & the dogs but that's all that we need & we are on our way.

Franchitti is a three-time Indianapolis 500 winner and the last time he won, Judd was by his side to celebrate. However, in January, they decided to end their marriage.
“We have mutually decided to end our marriage,” they said at the time. “We'll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed.”
The two married in 2001.
