The battles continued last night on NBC’s hit reality show, The Voice. The coaches are moving one step closer to the live shows, by narrowing their team down through the battle rounds and the upcoming knockout rounds.
First to enter the battle round stage was Team Christina. Coach Aguilera picked Jacob Poole to face off against Matthew Schuler. Fans will recognize Schuler as the vocalist who got all four coaches to turn around with the first note of his blind audition. Aguliera picked the Fall Out Boy song, “My Songs Know What You Did in The Dark, (Light Em’ Up).” That performance brought the audience to their feet and got high praises from the other coaches. Coach Cee Lo Green called it one of the best battles to date. In the end Aguilera was left with a tough decision. Matthew Schuler advanced to the knockout rounds for Team Christina. This made Jacob Poole available to steal, but none of the other coaches stole him.
Next up to the Voice stage was Team Cee Lo, who picked Kat Robichaud to face off against R. Anthony. Green picked the song the Aerosmith classic, “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.” After input from the other coaches, Green decided to have Kat Robichaud advance to the knock out rounds and R. Anthony was sent home.
In battles that were not shown, Green advanced Cole Vosbury, Shelton also advanced E.G Daily to the knockout rounds and Ashley Dubose also moved forward for Team Adam to the knockout rounds.
Team Blake took the stage next. Shelton paired Monika Leigh against Ray Boudreaux. Shelton picked the song, “Some Kinda Wonderful,” for the pair to perform. After a powerful and passionate performance, Ray Boudreaux advanced on Team Blake. As Leigh was saying goodbye and thanking Shelton, Green hit his steal button. Leigh now became a member of team Cee Lo.
The battle rounds continue Monday night on NBC. The battles get more intense and the steals are at a new level of intensity.
