Betty White's wax figure has been passed from museum to museum across the nation since its creation in June 2012. On Wednesday, the statue debuted at Madame Tussauds museum in Washington, D.C.
When the wax figure was first revealed back in 2012 at Madame Tussauds Hollywood museum, White was featured wearing a hot pink tracksuit and sneakers, reports E! Online. Back then, the actress said about the timing of the figure's creation, "The only thing that irks me is they waited until I was 90. A few decades ago would have been swell." She continued, joking, "I want to thank Madame Tussauds Hollywood for taking their sweet time in making my wax figure. Would it have killed them to do this 50 years ago before gravity took over?"
While on display in Washington, from October through December, the wax figure will be donning a blue gown with beaded sleeves.
Since the 91-year-old actress loves animals so much, Washington Humane Society CEO Lisa La Fontaine introduced the wax figure to the Washington museum, reports the Associated Press. The Humane Society will also be at the museum Tuesday, promoting its mobile adoption center that enables visitors to adopt pets.
The Golden Girls actress' wax figure joins numerous others at the Washington, D.C. Museum, including Angelina Jolie, Tiger Woods, Jennifer Lopez, Stephen Colbert, Tyra Banks and Barack Obama. White is the oldest celebrity in history to be honored by Madame Tussauds.
