VICTIM:Hayes Flynn
SCENE OF THE CRIME: In a park by a dog walker
SQUIDTERN: NONE

Pelant is back, and this time, he means business. Check out the intense episode's recap below!

The team is in the lab (even Sweets!) with the corpse of Donald Hesnees, one of Pelant's earlier victims. He had donated his body to science, so they are conducting experiments to get a edge on Pelant. They get right to work. The sooner they solve the crime, the sooner they catch Pelant, once and for all.

Booth and Flynn, the officer that had previously replaced Booth on the Pelant case, arrive. They are planting a body for Pelant to capture him.

Once the body has been planted, there is only one thing to do: wait.

Bones and Booth are at home, and a phone call interrupts their romantic moment. The FBI found a body, however, it wasn't the body Flynn had planted. The body is Flynn's. The corpse had a flower, monkswood, in its hand, confirming what the team already knew: this was Pelant's doing. (Of course he is watching them through various technological sources).

Back in the lab, Bones confirms Flynn's death. Pelant is mimicking Bones' technique. It is discovered that he was alive while his liver was removed, just as Prometheus in mythology.

Booth returns to his former priest, and current Bartender, for help. He convinces Booth that it's not his fault. Yet, Booth is very angry.

Hodgins is also frustrated that he can't find any evidence. Bones consoles him by saying, "The absence of evidence is in itself evidence." They then find that Flynn's clavicle was fractured by a bullet, and an artificial pin, made of bone, was inserted. It is an incredibly expensive procedure.

Booth checks with Sweets while they are searching Flynn's apartment; he suggests that Pelant paid for Flynn's surgery. They find fake passports, money, and other getaway necessities. Booth is convinced that Flynn was being framed. He refuses to believe that he was guilty. Flynn had saved his life.

Bones found the doctor who performed the surgery. Booth looses his temper and strangles the doctor in order to receive cooperation. Though forceful, it worked. The money used for the procedure was an anonymous donation.

Apparently Bones found an extra bone fracture. When the doctor had operated on Flynn, he only had ten fractures; Bones found eleven. It is believed that Pelant paid for the surgery, even though Flynn had no idea. The case has Booth and Brennan so wound that they kiss passionately. The stakes are raised.

The extra fracture is identical to a fracture from an unsolved case 9 years ago with a girl named Chloe Campbell. Bones heads down to the bone room to investigate, where Pelant meets her.

He puts a bomb on the table. "Let's Talk," he says.

They discuss the case, and Pelant attempts to convince Brennan that there is a similarity in multiple unsolved cases that she missed. He claims to know how to capture the serial killer, that he can help catch her.

With this he turns on the bomb beams, and tells her not to move. If she moves, the bomb will detonate. He leaves.

Booth promptly arrives to assist her, and he immediately recognizes the bomb as a toy.

The team finds a piece of severed tooth in Flynn's stomach. Hodgins swabs for particulates.

Later, Bones goes to confession to seek assistance.

Bones thinks Pelant is leaving her a puzzle, but Cam thinks it's a distraction. When she goes to search more bones, she discovers that Pelant rearranged the bone drawers. It's a code.

Meanwhile, Sweets approaches Booth with an idea: he thinks Pelant is trying to seduce Brennan. She is endgame.

Hodgins found coal ash on the chipped tooth. They are able to narrow down the scene of the Flynn's death to a plant in central maryland. Booth has complete trust in Flynn and insists on going alone. However, Brennan was ahead of all of them and went first. Booth hurries after her. Angela tries to interfere over the computer, but she is blocked by Pelant's firewall.

Armed, she meets Pelant. She tries to buy time before Booth arrives. Once Booth arrives, he kills Pelant, and it's all finally over.

Booth is finally able to explain to Brennan why he had to call off the engagement, and with that, they are re-engaged.

Next week on Bones Booth and Bones have difficulties planning their wedding with multiple distractions! MMA wrestler, Chuck Liddell, guest stars!
