The Broncos were down two scores before having two touchdown drives in the second half on which they converted two fourth downs.
They went on to win the game by a score of 45-21 as Peyton Manning blew it open in the second half.
"You can't give Peyton that many opportunities because he's going to take advantage of it," said Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan, back in Denver after being fired by the Broncos five years ago.
ESPN reports that the Denver defense got five turnovers (season high) to make up for Mannings three picks and and a fumble. Manning bounced back and finished with four touchdowns and 354 yards.
"That stuff happens in football," said Manning. "We haven't had a ton of that, but the fact we were able to overcome it was critical."
According to USA Today the Broncos defense had three sacks including one by linebacker Von Miller that forced Robert Griffin III to cough the ball up. That fumble was recovered and set up a touchdown for Denver.
