So the Nets disappoint an eager fan base with a loss, but Kevin Garnett says we must be patient.
“Everybody has to be patient and it’s not because you assembled guys that, ‘voila!’ It happens,” he said. “These are things Jason (Kidd) has been working with us every day. Our system is what it is. There’s a lot of different stuff. We’re just gathering it. We’re not a perfect team by far but we are a hard-working team."
The Nets were somewhat sloppy in their opener as they let the Cavs grab 16 offensive rebounds, and they only shot 40 percent on the offensive end, NY Daily News reports.
Despite their All-Star filled lineup, which according to NY Times shot Brooklyn's payroll up to $101 million, this team still needs work, and it'll be a gradual process.
“Hopefully the finished product will be us hoisting up the trophy,” said Jason Terry, who also came to town in the Nets Trade with the Celtics. “We know it’s a long haul.”
