Camille Grammer was recently diagnosed with endometrial cancer and is recovering after surgery.
The cancer was caught early during a routine checkup, her rep, Howard Bragman, told People magazine Friday. “She underwent a radical hysterectomy today,” Bragman explained. “The surgery went well and she is expected to make a complete recovery following a significant recuperation period.”
Bragman continued, “Ms. Grammer expresses gratitude to all the amazing health care professionals who have taken such loving and nurturing care of her. She urges all women to be aware of genetic factors relating to women's cancers and get regular checkups.”
Grammer is the former wife of Fraser and Boss actor Kelsey Grammer. She became an outspoken reality star on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but is not returning to the Bravo show, notes E! News. She and Kelsey Grammer share two children, born via a surrogate.
Bragman told People that Grammer, 45, has a higher chance of getting cancer because of genetic issues. Endometrial cancer affects the lining of the uterus.
With Grammer leaving RHOBV, Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia are joining the show.
