CeeLo Green's sexual assault case will be dropped, but Los Angeles prosecutors will go ahead with the drug possession charge.
The sexual assault charge was dropped after prosecutors noted there was a lack of evidence, NBC News reports. The charges stem from last year when a woman accused Green, real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, of giving her a drink laced with ecstasy and then having sex with her.
She says that she woke up in a bed naked with Green, something that Green has always denied. L.A. prosecutors had police search for evidence, but nothing turned up that showed "wrongful intent."
According to TMZ, as police investigated the woman's claims they had issues, such as an inconsistent story about their relationship. One story said that she was dating the Voice judge and had already been with the singer before.
The drug charge will continue, which is also a felony charge. The woman allegedly has a recording of CeeLo discussing what happened, which he mentions ecstasy. Sources, though, are claiming that's all the recording has, the mention of the drug, not anything about putting it into her drink.
