Oftentimes issues arise or events occur that spark a flurry of commentary from a variety of people on Twitter, the quick-dialogue-inducing social media platform . However, on Monday, October 21, there was no one topic dominating the conversation amidst celebrity tweeters. It's not that nothing happened during the day or this past weekend-- in fact, the NFL had a fair amount of exciting games with surprises and incidents, the Red Sox earned their way into the World Series, and on the sadder side of things, another shooting occurred (this one in Nevada, small but fatal) and the trial of Colorado shooter James Holmes waged on.

But for whatever reason, celebrity tweets of today were primarily about much lighter topics, and were not dominated by sports talk. Instead, it seems as if the day was one especially for personal tweets: self-promotions, personal opinions, feelings, and thoughts, and personal shout outs for friends and peers. With that stated, here are the top ten tweets of Monday, October 21.
