With the recent launch of President Obama's Affordable Healthcare Act and the simultaneous shutdown of the government, political conversations on social media have exploded over the last week. Actress Nina Dobrev added a new element to the discussion when she posted a photo of herself on Instagram, in which she was topless, holding a sign in front of her chest that said #GetCovered.
Here's the Twitter version of her post:
Im Canadian. We have healthcare for all. If you dont have insurance go to http://t.co/SEQS7qtQYA and #GetCovered ,Be… http://t.co/HtrFgfbh8i

And, though many politicians like Speaker of the House John Boehner tweeted their distaste for the health care law...

...they were countered by a number of celebrities, like Dobrev, showing their support for it via tweeting photos of themselves holding the same kind of sign, though unlike Dobrev, the rest generally left their clothes on. Dobrev wasn't the first or last, but she certainly helped shine a light on the movement.
Below are the top tweets from other celebrities who shared their support for the ACA.
