Charlize Theron was rocking a new accessory on the red carpet, a surgical bandage on her neck.
The blonde beauty looked stunning in Beverly Hills on Friday where she attended Variety’s 5th Annual Power of Women event.
According to the Daily Mail, the 38-year-old actress was being honored for her charitable work at the event, where she donned a white Stella McCartney dress. The short dress drew attention to Theron’s long legs and the cowl neck design helped to hide the surgical cut.
US Magazine reports that the stunning starlet seemed insecure about her injury and she fidgeted all evening worrying about the bandage.
“She’s got a small Band-Aid on her neck,” a source revealed. “She kept fussing with the white scarf. She was wearing it to cover it, but it was poking out and visible.”
The South-African actress decided to get the surgery to fix a broken vertebra. An insider said, “Charlize got injured on a set and broke a vertebra years ago. It's been bothering her a lot lately, so she had surgery to correct it and they had to go through her neck. The injury occurred when something hit her head.
The source also revealed how Theron is coping post-surgery. “She hasn’t been feeling good post-surgery, but she will be totally fine. She plans just to hang out and rest all weekend and recuperate."
