The Kansas City Chiefs remain unbeaten on top of the AFC West and beat the Browns 23-17
The Chiefs have a huge target on their backs as they are the only undefeated team in the league, and they show no signs of stopping. Every team in the NFL wants to be the ones to beat them and they couldn't be happier to be that team.
"We love it," Alex Smith said. "You want the stages to get bigger. That's why you put all the work in. You want this opportunity. You want that honor."'
ESPN reports that Kansas City's win over the Cleveland gives them only their second 8-0 start in franchise history. This came after a 2-14 season last year.
The team knows they will get their opponent's best every game from here on out.
"Like coach says, 'We're not trying to be the beauty queens,''' said wide receiver Dexter McCluster, "A win is a win. We know we're going to have to fight.
"Nothing is too close for comfort. We know it's going to get even tougher from here.''
Smith threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns including one to McCluster.
According to NFL.com the Chiefs had 13 first downs before Cleveland could get one before the Browns nearly mounted a comeback.
"We have to start faster," Browns third-string quarterback who played in place of Brandon Weeden this week.
The Chiefs let them get it to 20-17 at one point before winning 23-17.
