The streaming giant Netflix has ordered an original series from the creators of FX's Damages.
The thriller will be 13 episodes and be created by Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
The untitled series will follow a family of adult siblings as their secrets bubble up to the surface when their outcast of a brother comes back home.
The 13-episode series follows on the heels of other successful original content from Netflix, including Orange is the New Black, House of Cards and the rebooted Arrested Development. All those shows did well enough to easily see renewals for further seasons.
Netflix Original Content Vice-President Cindy Holland said, "We were spellbound after hearing Todd, Glenn and Daniel's pitch and knew Netflix was the perfect home for this suspenseful family drama that is going to have viewers on the edge of their seats."
According to HitFix, the series will begin production in 2014.
The three creators said, "We are absolutely thrilled to be creating an original series for Netflix - a company committed to cutting-edge storytelling in a vibrant, new space."
They also thanked Sony Pictures TV, whose TV Programming President Jamie Erlicht commented, "The guys worked so hard to come up with the right idea after the success of 'Damages.' It took almost a year to full develop the pitch and their patience paid off with the incredible reaction in the community, especially at Netflix, the perfect home for this show."
