Former Dancing with the Stars stars Edyta Śliwińska and Alec Mazo announced that they are pregnant with their first child Thursday.
32-year-old Śliwińska told People, “I’m due in January and we are having a boy.”
The pair of professional dancers have been trying to get pregnant for years. “We’ve been together for 13 years; married for six. We were both so ready for it and we’ve been planning on this for the past couple of years.”
The couple joined DWTS in 2005 during its first season. Sliwinska competed over 10 seasons, while her husband danced on the show for four, claiming the Mirror Ball trophy in the first season with partner Kelly Monaco.
When Śliwińska resigned from the show in 2010, she took to Facebook to reveal that, “after 10 seasons I felt like it's time to think about my future...I'm pursuing my education and looking forward to other projects that perhaps you will hear about, but my main goal is to finish my degree and start building my family.”
Back then, the dancer claimed, “I'm not hanging up my dancing shoes, I love dancing and it will always be a part of my life.” We'll see if she continues dancing once her little bundle of joy arrives.
Śliwińska revealed the start of her baby bump on Instagram Thursday, saying, “There it is, my little secret. Less than 2 lbs little.”
