Clippers back up point guard Darren Collison welcomed his baby boy Kinston to the family Monday night, and he will play against the Lakers Tuesday night.
Collison missed the team's last preseason game due to a bruised knee cap, and was limited in practice on Sunday and Monday. ESPN reports that Collison said his knee is not yet at full health, but it won't stop him from playing opening night.
“My knee is fine,” Collison said. “It’s better. I could tolerate the pain. It’s not fully where I need to be. But I’m running fine. It’s no limp or nothing. I’m ready to go. It’s go time.”
According to LA Times Collison left the hospital to get to the arena in time for shoot around, and will go back to the hospital to see the newest Collison before game time.
“It’s one of the best times in my life, probably not sleeping-wise, I didn’t get too much sleep,” Collison said. “I’ll be fine for the game.”
