Dish Network and Walt Disney Co have reached a short-term deal that will avoid a blackout while they continue talks.
The extension also means that channels like ESPN and ABC will remain up for Dish subscribers, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The issue between the two companies is that Dish isn't happy with the increasing prices for various broadcast channels. Dish claims they don't want to have to pass the added costs on to their customers.
Disney, meanwhile, believes that the cost is appropriate for their channels.
Reuters notes that has been no word on how long the extension is supposed to last.
While busy negotiating with Disney, Dish recently won a temporary victory against ABC in a lawsuit over its "Hopper" service.
Several networks see the Hopper as a problem as it allows viewers to record primetime shows and then have it automatically skip commercials .
ABC and other channels worry that it could affect their revenue streams if commercials are allowed to be automatically skipped.
