Actress Fran Drescher has been spotted with Shiva Ayyadurai, the MIT graduate who claims to have invented email.
Us Weekly is reporting that the two were seen together at the Bridegroom premiere event, hosted by the Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills on Tuesday.
A source for the magazine said that Drescher, 56, and Ayyadurai, 49, were “very affectionate,” adding, “He [gave] her a kiss...They [were] all smiles and [seemed] very into each other and very much in love.”
According to The Huffington Post, Ayyadurai is now teaching at MIT. He claimed in a 2011 TIME story that he was the first person to use the phrase “EMAIL,” which he began developing when in 1978 when he was 14. However, a 2012 Gizmodo story questioned his claims.
Drescher is best known as the star of The Nanny from 1993 to 1999. She currently stars on the TV Land series Happily Divorced, which was reportedly inspired by her own divorce from Peter Marc Jacobson in 1999.
She recently told HuffPostLive that she likes to date younger men. “I'm trying to keep it, like within 10 years now,” she said. “Definitely younger... I've got a lot of energy and a lot of contemporary taste in music or whatever. So I have more in common with guys who are younger.”
