Actress Morena Baccarin of Homeland fame welcomed a baby boy named Julius with her husband Austin Chick on Tuesday.
Her rep confirmed that the baby is healthy despite it being a breach delivery. Dr. Ronald Wu delivered the baby at Glendale Adventist Medical Center.
“Julius and his mother are happy and healthy,” her rep told People.
Dr. Wu is the only doctor in the LA area that delivers babies who are breeched. “I’m so happy I was able to deliver with Dr. Wu,” Baccarin said. “Breech delivery is a dying art and he gave me the birth experience I wanted.”
The Emmy-nominated actress, 34, announced she was pregnant in May and opened up about telling her Showtime cast and crew at the Variety EMMY Studio "Race to Emmy Red Carpet" event in June.
She told Us Weekly she was “a little freaked out” about telling them.
“[I had] a sense of responsibility to my job and I suddenly felt like, 'Am I going to be disappointing everybody that I'm knocked up?' But life goes on. Everybody was so kind to me. Claire's laid down the groundwork, and they're really good at hiding pregnancies now,” she said about her co-star, Claire Danes, who was pregnant last season.
