The first night of Barney and Robin’s wedding weekend is finally winding down in this episode. In the pickup of last week’s text message to Lily-cliffhanger, Lily surprises Marshall with a response regarding staying in a haunted room rather than acknowledging the text Daphne sent.

Last night’s episode fit nicely into the Halloween season without actually being a Halloween episode (the show takes place in May.) Sasquatch loving-Marshall learned about a nineteenth-century serial killer, Captain Deardruff on an episode of True and Real Ghost Stories of The Supernatural. It turns out Captain Deardruff died in room thirteen of the Inn and is rumored his ghost had been spotted there. Of course Marshall requested he and Lilly stay in that room, but since he is on the road she is alone in the ghost room. Lily’s phone call to Marshall was to relay her anger towards having to stay in that room alone.

Of course, Lily tries to switch out of the room, but the hotel clerk is less then helpful when he starts to blame all of the malfunctions of the room either on the ghost of Captain Deardruff or on Lily. She is forced to stay in the room and hope for no ghosts.

Marshall then calls the rest of the group separately putting in, “no questions asked” favors involving breaking into Lily’s room and deleting the text Daphne sent. At this point the writers could have flash backed to better moments of past episodes where the group has gotten themselves into weird situations, but instead the moments they chose were just not that great. For instance, Lily has definitely gotten herself into weirder situations than being tied up by her students. For instance, when the hotel clerk was charging her for room service she didn’t order, on the list of items purchased was, a Prison Sluts 9 rental that Lily didn’t deny renting. Ha!

In the end, Ted is able to delete the text by putting in a “no questions asked” favor and demanding she drop her phone and smash it with her foot. Marshall feels bad as he realizes he’s never had to keep information from his beloved Lily pad and therefore has never had a no questions asked moment with her. He decides to tell her the truth about his judgeship decision and then, the episode ends. Next week maybe we get to see Marshall and Lily together in the same room.
