IFC and Funny or Die's The Spoils of Babylon has seen the release of its first trailer and it looks to be quite silly.

Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive trailer for the new show. Spoils is supposed to be a spoof of nighttime soap operas, such as The Thorn Birds or Dallas.

The series is only six episodes and is an adaptation of a fictional best-seller written by Eric Jonrosh (played by Will Ferrell). His story follows the Morehouse family, with Tim Robbins playing the father Jonas. Kristen Wiig plays his daughter Cynthia, who has it bad for Tobey Maguire's character, her adopted brother Devon.

Wiig said, "The whole show is ridiculous and I mean that in the best way. The things this family goes through, the murder and the lies and the affairs, is so absurd and bizarre and written so well."

There are other big names in the cast, including Haley Joel Osment, Michael Sheen, Val Kilmer and Jessica Alba.

Osment plays Cynthia's evil son, while Sheen plays her husband, Chet.

The Spoils of Babylon premieres on IFC January 9th.
