For Texas residents, it was a busy weekend, as thousands attended the 20th anniversary of the Austin Film Festival.

Every year the crowds enjoy movie screenings at the Paramount Theatre located downtown Congress, and this year was the screening of one of the many comedy movies Cavemen, starring the famous actor, Chad Michael Murray.

You may know him from his TV show hit series One Tree Hill, as Lucas Scott, or his movies A Cinderella Story, and Freaky Friday, where he worked with both Disney stars Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. The famous actor, walked the red carpet, and spoke to us about his new film.

TCC: What first drew you the script when you first read it?

Chad- "You know it was the opportunity to kind of step outside the ideal of being the moral center of something. I really enjoyed Jay's monologue, I liked the story telling aspects of it and uh, there's certain human elements that I really, really was attracted to. So it was an opportunity to do something different."

TCC: I know there is a lot of great talent on the set. What was it like working with Skylar?

Chad- "Oh, he was great! He can sing a lot."

TCC: Did you guys have a little aca-pella?

Chad- "Nooooo. Not me. He was really good at it by the way. He kept us going. He's got great energy, he kept us alive through the whole project. Just a great guy. Really good guy."

TCC: Where there any obstacles you faced while filiming?

Chad- "Just a really short production schedule. Shooting a lot of material in a short period of time. But uh it was a labor of love for everyone so everyone was just kind of in it."

TCC: Did you find any similarities between your character and your personality?

Chad- "I mean I think that, when you're a guy there's a certain bit of "Jay" in everyone we'll go with that. But um, no I'm a little more laid-back than this character. I see things slightly different."

TCC: One last final question: What advice would you give those aspiring actors/actresses trying to make it big in Hollywood?

Chad- "Work harder than everybody else. You know, everyone would love the opportunity but really really believe in yourself. The talent will rise and if you do the work you'll win."

His movie Cavemen, also starring Skylar Astin and Camilla Belle, hits theaters in February.
