During the late 90s to early 2000s Murder Inc. Records was a force to be reckoned with. Founded by Irv Gotti, this label produced artists like JaRule and Ashanti who went on to be successful in the early 2000s. The label has been on a hiatus lately but Irv Gotti announced that he plans to bring back Murder Inc. in full force.
According to sohh Irv Gotti has been connecting with his fans via Instagram and made an announcement on his future plans. He plans on starting an entertainment company called Visionary which will drop music and produce shows.
On his Instagram, he says, “Wanna share with y’all what I’ve been plotting on!! For years I have been wanting to start and ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY called VISIONARY and yesterday was one of the 1st steps with bringing Maddi Jane. 14-year-old superstar from Chicago to my family at Atlantic Records. Julie Greenwald. Mtg and energy was fantastic. So I wake up today very excited. VISIONARY will also be doing TV shows. Me and Rule are working with Cris Abrego of 51 Minds and Rule will probably have his own Reality Show very soon. Which will also be part VISIONARY thing. Also working on a few movie ideas that will also be VISIONARY. So with the singing of Maddi Jane and me waking up feeling great. I said let me share this with my people.”
In addition to making his Visionary Entertainment plan, Irv also announces on his Instagram what how he plans on reviving Murder Inc. within that entertainment company. Visionary will also manage artists and other rappers he feel deserve to be Visionary will be part of Murder Inc.
“VISIONARY will also manage artist as well. But I will only manage artist I feel are VISIONARY type artist. Not trying to just manage any and everyone. And that will be music and actors and athletes. MURDER INC will be a label under VISIONARY. And things I will do with Ja will always be MURDER INC AND MPIRE. And if I find another rapper that inspires me to work with them. It will be MURDER INC. But an artist like Maddi Jane will be under VISIONARY. I will let you guys in on more things I’m doing when the time is right,” he says on his Instagram.
Hip Hop n more even claims that he wasn’t kidding as Ja Rule has released 2 singles “Everything” and “Fresh Out Da Pen” on iTunes. On the artwork it mentions Murder Inc./Maven/Visionary.
Now that Ja Rule is fresh out of jail, this could be great for his career. Being that Murder Inc. was a huge part of his early success. He has also gotten into acting as he has a movie with Adrienne Bailon called I’m In Love With A Church Girl.
