Is Bones, Fox’s long-running crime procedural, nearing its end? According to one tabloid report, star David Boreanaz may be leaving. Thankfully for fans of the show though, Boreanaz shared some good news on Twitter.

A report for Radar Online on Monday claimed that the actor, who plays Booth on the show, was on his way out. “David is telling friends that it’s his last season,” a source told the site, which claimed that this was not a contract negotiation tactic. It even quoted a 2012 tweet from Boreanaz.

The site does claim that Deschanel is committed to a season 10, though, so it could continue if he left.

However, that issue is moot. Boreanaz tweeted today that he is not leaving a show he loves. He said he has a deal and called being on the show “a blessing.” Bones creator Hart Hanson retweeted Boreanaz’s message.

According to Zap2It, there were worries among fans after season seven ended, since that was the last year of Boreanaz’s deal. However, he eventually committed to two more seasons.

Bones, which airs on Fox every Monday at 8 p.m., just began its ninth season. You can check out our recap of the latest episode here. Deschanel’s Brennan and Booth are set to marry during the Oct. 21 episode.
