Atlanta has produced some of the biggest superstars in the music industry. It has a great track record with Outkast (Andre 3000 & Big Boi), Young Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri, T.I to name a few. T.I. has been known to be the “King of the South” but newcomer Future thinks Atlanta is his now.
During his performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards, Future bragged with the statement “I run Atlanta.” In an interview with Revolt TV spoke on how he felt about his position in the game.
“Even when I said the statement, it was nothing to be cocky of or anything, I just feel like I’m a different breed when it comes to music. I could do pretty much anything when you put me in a booth or [when] you put a beat on. It was just making sure everybody understands that, Man I’m here to stay. I could make hits, this what I was built to do.” Future said to REVOLT.
According to Rap Music Future also made this statement on MTV Rap Fix earlier this month. He explains why he loves performing live and what it’s like working with DJ Khaled.
“I love performing, I love getting on that stage and just showcasing my skills to the audience and to my fans. It’ a way of giving back and just living and breathing the music and giving the people a chance to see it on the stage. Every line I speak, I want to able to connect with the fans and have them connect with every word. I wanna live the words on the stage and give people those stellar performances,” he says.
Future is set to release his upcoming album Honest either later this year or early 2014. His debut album Pluto wasn’t that successful on the charts despite the support of singles like “Tony Montana.”
