Another singer can be added to the history books for flubbing the national anthem. James Taylor, 65, did the honors at the World Series on Thursday night before Game 2 and unfortunately, got off to a rocky start.

Taylor first started singing "America the Beautiful" instead of "Star-Spangled Banner,” but quickly caught his mistake and switched songs.

According to Fox News, it didn’t entirely come out of no where, as Taylor was supposed to sing “America the Beautiful” later in the game, during the seventh inning. When that time came, Taylor sang as victims of the Boston Bomber stood with him on the field.

Fans took to Twitter, some defending him and some making jokes about the situation.

“I'm impressed. James Taylor can sing the National Anthem while playing an entirely different song on the guitar,” wrote one user, while another said, “I just call this the Americana remix-James Taylor briefly forgets to sing national anthem, sings America the Beautiful.”

“Even when James Taylor messes up he makes it sound good. Smooth transition right there,” someone else wrote.
