Country music star and Grammy winner Jason Aldean had to offer his condolences to the family of a man who was hit and killed by his tour bus Monday morning in Indiana.
The accident happened in Knox County, Ind. at 1:30 a.m. on Old U.S. 41, reports TriStateHomepage.com. Albert Kennedy walked in front of the tour bus, deputies told the site.
ABC News states that a coroner was brought to the scene. According to the police report, he declared the cause of death “trauma to the head and chest.”
Knox County Sheriff Michel Morris said that Aldean was on the bus at the time. He and the driver were not injured.
Aldean later took to Twitter and WhoSay to express his condolences to Kennedy’s family.
“With a heavy heart, I'm sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana,” the “My Kinda Party” singer wrote. “In all the years I've been touring and all the miles we've driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I'm praying for Albert Kennedy's family and friends today and ask that you do the same.”
The incident is still under investigation. It’s not clear where Aldean was heading. He resumes touring in January.
Aldean recently performed in New Orleans for the Susan G. Komen foundation to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. In April, he filed for divorce from wife Jessica Ussery after he was involved with another woman.
