Newly hired Brooklyn Nets Coach, Jason Kidd was suspended on Friday for the first two games of the upcoming NBA season.

According to the NBA.com, Jason Kidd will miss the first two games due to pleading guilty to a misdemeanor drunken driving. On July 15, 2012 in eastern Long Island, Kidd’s car crashed into a utility pole causing minor injuries, and was treated at a hospital.

When it came to taking full responsibly for his actions the Brooklyn nets head coach stated "I think we all knew that was going to come at some point," Jason said Friday after practice. "You have to be responsible and the league came down with the suspension, and I accept that. If a player's out, guys have got to step up. ... My coaching staff is more than capable of stepping up."

As of right now, it seems to be unclear as to which of his assistants will fill his shoes during this suspension.

The Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King also stated According to Jeff Zillgitt ofUSAToday.com, "The decision is consistent with what the league has done in the past and we look forward to Jason leading our team versus Orlando and the rest of the year,"
