John Legend and Chrissy Teigen made headlines in September for tying the knot, but it turns out the couple made things official before heading off to Italy for their wedding ceremony in Lake Como.

According to E! Online, the lovebirds kept things simple by getting legally married in the courthouse.

The Love in the Future singer and his supermodel bride headed to the courthouse to take their nuptials after attending the Vera Wang show during New York Fashion Week.

One day later, the couple jetted off to Italy to participate in a ceremony with all of their friends and family.

The Huffington Post reports that the Sports Illustrated model wore three gowns during her big day.

“Every time I went in [to Vera Wang] for a fitting, I couldn't stop getting one," Teigen said. "It's just too pretty."

The lavish ceremony also included a performance of “Ribbons in the Sky” by Stevie Wonder and the groom serenaded the crowd with a song that he penned for Teigen, “All of Me.”

Legend, 34, and Teigen, 27, began dating in 2007 and got engaged in December 2011.
