Christian Ponder is likely to be the Vikings starter once again as Josh Freeman showed concussion-like symptoms after his debut in a Vikings uniform.

Josh Freeman took a hit in the third quarter of the Vikings' loss to the Giants Monday night, which apparently is the reason he is showing these symptoms.

"Josh Freeman came in (Tuesday) mid-afternoon and wasn't feeling so well, and we ended up doing an evaluation and he has concussion-like symptoms," Frazier said. "They're going to take him through the NFL protocol (Wednesday), and we'll evaluate him daily."

According to TwinCities.com Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said that it will be beneficial to the team that Christian Ponder did not complain about losing his job. He also said that Ponder typically keeps a positive attitude.

Ponder, expected to start Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, was asked if he might be more comfortable this time around now that he has already been sent to the bench this season.

"I think I was playing with a lot of pressure on myself before and never felt in sync. Now is the opportunity to take that deep breath and go out and have fun again. I already got benched, so it can't get worse than that," he said.

ESPN reports that Ponder also said he will not be worrying about possibly having a "short leash" with his coaches.

Maybe Ponder will have a better outing in his second chance.
