Kanye West opened up about his recent proposal to now-fiance Kim Kardashian during an interview on Monday with Power 106's morning radio show Big Boy's Neighborhood.

The Yeezus rapper, 36, who popped the question on the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star’s 33rd birthday, admits to being “nervous” about the proposal and apologizes for setting the bar too high for other guys out there who are planning to propose.

“I was nervous a little bit, but more about everything being on cue,” he said, adding, he wasn’t nervous at all about asking Kardashian to marry him because he wanted to marry her the moment he met her.

"I wanted to marry that girl from the first time I saw her," he gushed, E! Online reports. "Kim and I are the perfect balance."

West went on to say he "had to wait through a bunch of other relationships to finally get the chance" to be with her, referring to her past relationships with Reggie Bush and her ex-husband Kris Humphries.

He said their aiming to get married next summer and gave a hint at how over-the-top it will be: "Two words: fighter jets.”

West proposed with a 50-piece orchestra and a jumbotron. He revealed he wanted Lana del Rey there to sing “Young and Beautiful” but the orchestra played the song instead.
