Katy Perry has been hard at work promoting her new album Prism, but that doesn’t mean that she hasn’t found time for her personal life.
According to E! Online the “Roar” singer recently dished about her boyfriend, John Mayer, in a recent interview for the November issue of W Magazine.
“I actually am dating my crush,” Perry said. “I had a crush on him for a long time.”
The 28-year-old pop star also revealed to W Magazine some personal details about her divorce with British comedian Russell Brand.
"Of course," she said. "I really loved it. It was a new, fun, exciting journey. But I like how I am now, and I think all things happen for a reason."
The Grammy winner has admitted in the past that her split with Brand in February 2012 provided some inspiration for Prism, particularly her song “Dark Horse.”
The starlet also revealed her inspiration behind her latest hit, “Roar,” saying, “This song is about sticking up for yourself. People talk about bullying, but you can be your own bully in some ways. You can be the person who is standing in the way of your success, and that was the case for me. I was having a great professional streak, but personally, I was really immature, so I had to balance those things out."
She adds, “If you are not happy with something, you should change it. So I went to a lot of therapy, and finally, I am able to speak up for myself: You are going to hear me roar!"
