Rapper Kendrick Lamar stole the show at the BET Hip-hop Awards show.
Kendrick Lamar is a well-known hip-hop rapper, who created controversy on Big Sean’s song, “Control” that he was featured on. In the song, he called out the names of some hip-hop rappers as not being on his level.
Lamar seems not to mind creating another controversy at the BET Hip-hop Awards show when he began dissing the Toronto rapper Drake in a cypher segment.
Lamar said in his verse, “Nothing's been the same since they dropped 'Control'/ And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes,... "Your sh*t never penetrates/ Pin the tail on the donkey, boy you been a fake," noted the Billboard.
Drake was not in attendance, which drew the ire of some fans as to why he did not attend the award show.
Drake’s lack of attendance did not stop him from winning awards such as People's Champ, Track of the Year, and Best Hip-Hop Video according to Rolling Stone.
Whether Drake will respond to a second call out from Kendrick Lamar is yet to be seen, especially since Drake does not seem like the type to care for such words.
However, some want Drake to respond to Lamar’s words, creative artist and singer Erykah Badu gave Drake some advice below:
Drake, u gotta come-back boy ... This HipHop.
