The late Steve Irwin’s son, Robert Irwin, 9, will follow in his father’s footsteps by co-hosting the show Wild But True on Discovery Kids Asia.

Both Robert and older sister, Bindi, made appearances on their father’s Animal Planet show The Crocodile Hunter. He passed away in 2006 of a sting ray injury while shooting a documentary.

Robert said the new show is "... about how science has gotten ideas and built from inventions from the natural world," The AP reports.

Although he was only 3 when his father died, he still remembers him as someone who was “really, really passionate in every single thing that he did.” He continued, “I think it's really important to carry on for what he did, so I'm really glad that that's what we're doing.”

James’ older sister Bindi, 14, also followed in her father’s footsteps by having multiple television credits to her name including Return to Nim’s Island on The Hallmark Channel. It’s part of the“Walden Family Theater” series, which showcases family friendly movies every Friday night.
