In 2010, Montana Fishburne, the daughter of actor Laurence Fishburne, thought she would become famous in the pornography industry, reportedly at the cost of being disowned by her famous father. She’s now speaking out, bashing the porn industry.
Montana spoke with Fox News for a story on how most porn stars do not get paid as much as we might think. In 2010, she made An A-List Daughter Makes Her XXX Debut in a deal with Vivid Entertainment. Shortly thereafter, as we reported at the time, Montana’s father disowned her, accusing her of using his last name to help out her career in the X-rated world. She was inspired by Kim Kardashian’s now-famous sex tape, which launched the Kardashian family’s fame.
But instead of becoming the next Kardashian, Montana retreated into obscurity. Even back in 2010, she didn’t see most of the profits. “Montana Fishburne’s tape sold pretty well. That was a completely different time,” an industry insider told Fox News. “It was $60,000 up front, but she didn’t get 70 percent of the tape sales.”
Jasmine Waltz, who also made a tape for Vivid, told Fox News, “Lawrence Fishburne’s daughter got burned really, really bad. She got $60,000 dollars and never saw another penny.”
“I don’t encourage people to go into the porn industry. You’re not going to be famous, or be a movie star. You may end up having a really sucky life,” Montana, who was 18 when she made her porn debut, added. She said that most of the stars in celebrity sex tapes aren’t the average porn star. If you think what happened to Kardashian can happen to you, think again, she said.
Montana continued, offering advice to anyone who considers the porn industry. “You have to look at where you come from,” she said. “My idea is go to school and have life experience but don’t just jump into something blindly and have a big pay day. If you’re going to be going into porn, you have to have a very clear head.”
