Nine missing Doctor Who episodes from the 1960s were found at a Nigeria TV station in Jos.

One of the missing episodes found was the popular story "The Web of Fear," BBC News reports. "Web" features the Doctor battling a robot yeti.

The six part stort "The Enemy of the World" featuring Patrick Troughton's Doctor. The nine episode find is believed to be the largest discovery of missing episodes over the past three decades.

Who writer and actor Mark Gatiss said, "It's thrilling."

"Every single avenue seemed to have been exhausted, every now and then something turns up - but to have two virtually complete stories out of the blue is absolutely incredible."

Many of the early copies of the show's tapes were destroyed by the BBC, but occasionally tapes sold to foreign broadcasters show up.

Director of Television International Enterprises Archive Phillip Morris found the missing episodes. "The tapes had been left gathering dust in a storeroom at a television relay station in Nigeria. I remember wiping the dust off the masking tape on the canisters and my heart missed a beat as I saw the words, Doctor Who."

According to The Mirror, the BBC re-mastered the newly found episodes for fans to buy starting Thursday.

Though most of "The Web of Fear" was found, episode three of the six-part story is still missing. So a restoration team worked with 37 images and the audio to reconstruct that missing part of the story.
