Meg Ryan has kept herself out of the spotlight for the longest time, and now she has explained that the reason was to keep a quiet life for herself in New York.
According to the Huffington Post, Meg Ryan was featured as the cover story for the latest issue of People.
In the story, it is revealed that the actress kept getting film offers but chose to deny them to lay low. One of her friends, writer Delia Ephron, said, "Los Angeles is just about movies. New York is about so much more than that, and so is Meg.”
Ryan, 51, has lived in New York for years with her 8-year-old daughter Daisy and boyfriend of almost three years, John Mellencamp. Her move to New York and out of the Hollywood spotlight happened after her divorce from Dennis Quaid when both stars cheated on each other.
After the divorce, Ryan told InStyle, "It was also incredibly liberating. Now I was utterly free. I didn't have to care about what people thought. I have gotten to do what I guess I secretly wanted to do. Be totally under the radar and live my life."
