Megyn Kelly begins her new show The Kelly File in prime time on Monday night and has said she will be just reporting the news and not injecting her opinion into them.
Los Angeles Times reports Kelly said, "I'm not going to be the female Bill [O'Reilly]."
The news anchor told the Times in a phone interview, "I'm a news anchor, I'm not an ideologue. I don't want to be an opinion maker." Kelly is considered one of the few on Fox News who doesn't always let her opinions be known.
Because of that, Jon Stewart has called her his "favorite person over there." Both sides of the political spectrum tend to believe she sides with them, to an extent.
Kelly responds to that line of thought, "I always say to them: You assume too much. Nobody really knows my true feelings on a lot of issues."
According to Politico, O'Reilly tried to encourage her to give out her opinion. The heavily conservative TV host said, "You're gonna have to give your opinion sometimes because there are going to be so many pinheads you will go, 'this is insane.' You're gonna have to do that."
She didn't seem to agree with O'Reilly saying, "I'm not going to be somebody like you who's going to outline what needs to happen with the sequester and the showdown. ... I will present both sides of the view. I want to do it smartly and succinctly."
