It's no secret that Michael Bay enjoys blowing stuff up. A lot. He's known for Transformers which never shied away from the explosions and special effects, but this time Bay is going in a new explosive direction with a World War II action film entitled Sabotage. It leaves many skeptical if Bay is capable of creating another World War II piece after his last flop Pearl Harbor.

According to Empire Sabotage will be based on an (as of right now) unwritten book by Neal Bascomb based on a Norwegian resistance group in World War II as they set out to destroy a top secret Nazi weapon. Bascomb has written other historical works such as the Battleship Potemkin.

After Paramount won out the bidding war for Sabotage rumor are they went to Bay to produce and develop the true story based on these events according to The Wrap. The full title for the film as it was pitched is Sabotage: A Genius Scientist, His Band of Young Commandos, and the Mission to Kill Hitler’s Super Bomb. That seems like a bit of a mouthful. What do you think, should Bay helm another World War II epic such as this, or should this be in the hands of someone else?
