Eve wants to go to a Vampire Weekend concert, but Mike doesn’t think its safe or a good idea. Annie takes his side because they are teammates. Meanwhile the couple head off to diner, where in the elevator Annie gets into a verbal altercation with a neighbor about elevator manners. Mike thinks she is over reacting but says nothing.
Leigh gets a dog, despite her irresponsible tendencies. Mike tells Leigh that when she abandons the dog or forgets to take care of it, he doesn’t want to have to step up to the plate. Eve however, has more faith in her aunt and bets Mike that if Leigh can be responsible with the dog, she can go to the concert.
Ian makes another push to get his old, larger room back from Graham. Ian claims that he needs it to help grow his business. Mike tells Ian that Graham can do whatever he wants with the room, so Ian tries to get Graham to give the room to him. Ian tells Graham that a demon creature that hides in the closet haunts the room.
When Mike runs into the neighbor Annie yelled at, he apologizes to him by saying Annie has gone off of her bi-polar medication. When Annie finds out about this, and that Mike covers for her yelling at people about manners all the time, Annie says Mike is supposed to be her partner. Mike says that just because people are married doesn’t mean they have to blindly agree with each other all the time. This prompts Annie to allow Eve to go to her concert, even though Leigh has abandoned the dog with Leigh to go to Atlantic City with a guy she met.
Annie also calls Harris to tell him that Mike and her can make his birthday karaoke party, where Harris celebrates every birthday in the office at once at a karaoke bar, even though both she and Mike doesn’t want to go. Mike realizes that Annie actually loves karaoke and she was only pretending to hate karaoke so that Mike wouldn’t have to go to the party.
Eve, who is finally allowed to attend the concert, ends up staying home to stay with the dog because she feels quality leaving it alone. Mike finds out how responsible Eve was with the dog and lets her go to the concert anyway, while deciding the family will keep the dog.
