Miley Cyrus might have made MTV Video Music Award history this year, but the 20-year-old pop star is paying homage to someone who stole the show in 1999.

Cyrus’ VMA look is a popular choice for Halloween this year, but she dressed up in Lil Kim’s legendary purple onesie.

The “We Can’t Stop” singer took to Twitter to show off the costume:

MTV News notes Cyrus attended a Halloween party with Wiz Khalifa, who she collaborated with on “23” and his wife Amber Rose. The couple dressed up their son, Sebastian, as a lion.

While Khalifa went as a character from the 1979 cult classic movie Warriors, Rose dressed as Marie Antoinette.

Cyrus’ Lil Kim costume was complete with a purple wig, a pasty on one of her breasts and a jumpsuit. Lil Kim definitely approved, tweeting back, "Awwww. Look at my baby @mileycyrus tonight!!! Looking GORGEOUS!!! I wish I was there to squeeze your boob 🙂 🙂 Love U so much !!!! #mytwin."
