Rihanna’s Twitter activity proved to be helpful over the weekend as it helped authorities arrest a bar owner in Thailand.
Officials confirmed on Monday that the pop star’s tweets while she visited Thailand helped them uncover the culprit.
He was arrested on Saturday as part of an investigation into lewd sex shows on the island of Phuket. Weera Kerdsirimongkon, the local district chief, said they used her Instagram post to track him down.
"Authorities found out about this bar the morning after Rihanna tweeted about it, but we were not able to catch them violating the law until Saturday night," he explained, The AP reports.
He added, "We had been waiting for them and finally caught them red-handed."
This isn’t the first time Rihanna’s social media activity led to an arrest. After she posted an Instagram selfie of herself with a slow loris, a protected species in Thailand, a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were arrested for possession of protected animals.
