Natalie Portman looks confident and sexy in a red Dior Haute Couture dress on the November cover of Marie Claire magazine. In the magazine, Portman opens up about moving to Paris and how she deals with fame.
The 32-year-old actress revealed that she will miss California when she makes the big move to Paris at the end of next year with Benjamin Millepied. According to E! Online couple, who met on the set of Black Swan, are leaving the states because Millepied has accepted the position of director for the Paris Opera Ballet.
“I just really, really love it here,” the Oscar winner says. “It’s one of the most exciting places to be in the world right now. It’s really central in terms of the arts. It feels like things are happening in L.A., you know? New York is more where are is bought than where art is made.”
Portman did add that she still does feel excited to about the move. “I’m really lucky,” she says. “When Ben asked me if I wanted to go to Paris, I freaked. Everyone dreams of living in Paris.”
USA Today reports that although Portman has been absent from the big screen for two years, she has been hard at work wrapping four movies.
Her next flick is a sequel, Thor: The Dark World. She dished on her co-star Chris Hemsworth saying, “Chris is like, one of the greatest people in Hollywood. He’s the kind of actor who’s so charismatic, he must be tired when he goes home.”
Portman, who received an abundance of critical praise for her performance in films like Black Swan, revealed that she takes part in less serious movies like Thor because she appreciates all films.
“I grew up around a lot of snobbism about what was important and what was serious, and I really reject that,” the brunette beauty says.
The Harvard alum also spoke to the magazine about life as a celebrity. She admitted that even though she hates the attention from the paparazzi, she loves polite fans.
“People are really cool, by and large,” she says. “I try and stay away from drunk people—that’s when they start getting rude and aggressive, like, ‘Why did you suck in that movie?’”
Portman, who is a mom to 2-year-old son Alpeh, also shared what lessons she has learned from her parents. "They made me feel that they would drop anything at any time to help me. I never felt like there was anything more important than me. Which I know can probably create an a--hole, too. It gives you a deep sense of security and safety to feel that your parents will love you no matter what."
