Tina Fey didn't stay off the air on NBC for that long it turns out, since the end of her show 30 Rock. NBC has given her comedy with Ellie Kemper a series order.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy series, created with Robert Carlock, was given a 13-episode straight-to-series order, with the show set to air in the fall of 2014.
Fey and Carlock will co-run, executive produce and co-write the show. David Milner is set to executive produce as well.
The show, which stars Kemper, will be about a woman begins her life anew in New York City after escaping a doomsday cult.
Carlock and Fey said in a statement, "We have been lucky enough to work at NBC for our entire careers (except when Robert worked at The Dana Carvey Show, now available on DVD) and we thank Bob [Greenblatt] and Jen [Salke] for their continued support."
Entertainment Weekly reports that Greenblatt commented that the network is happy that Fey and Carlock continue to create for NBC.
"Tina and Robert, who cemented their partnership on 30 Rock, have created a new signature comedy for us that is audacious, emotional, and clever."
Much like Fey, this is a return to NBC for Kember, who was on the long-running The Office.
