Legendary Entertainment’s new television department has landed its first sale, with a unique new superhero drama from Chris Fedak, the co-creator of NBC’s cult series Chuck. The new project will reunite him with NBC.
The project, which still doesn’t have a title, also reunites Fedak with Bruce Rosenblum, who runs Legendary TV. Rosenblum previously ran Warner Bros. TV, which produced Chuck, notes Deadline. He also worked with Legendary TV EVP Scripted Development Peter Johnson on Chuck since Johnson lead McG’s Wonderland Sound & Vision.
According to TheWrap, the series centers on four ‘broken’ people who seem to have nothing in common at first. But then an anonymous donor appears to give them the new organs they need to live. It turns out that the donor is the same person: a superhero with powers.
Legendary TV opened for business in May and is a new division of the same company that produced Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Rises.
Fedak co-created Chuck with Jason Schwartz. The series, which ran from 2007 to 2012, starred Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski.
