Prince Harry was welcomed to Australia this week, where he helped celebrate the International Fleet Review.
According to E! Online Harry received quite the welcome in Sydney Australia, where he was greeted with a 100-gun salute.
USA Today reports that the red-headed royal flew to Australia to represent the British royal family, where he donned a white dress uniform and blue beret. The guest of honor helped inspect the Royal Australian Navy’s fleet, which includes over 40 warships, 16 tall ships, and 8,000 sailors.
The ginger prince also partied with the Prime Minister Tony Abbott’ss daughters, Bridget, 20, and Frances, 22 at the reception at Syndey’s Kirribilli House. The event included a 30-minute light show and a fireworks display over the famous Sydney harbor.
Harry also made time to meet and greet with some of the Sydney locals. He spent some time on the waterfront at Campbell’s Cove in The Rocks downtown tourist district. The gracious prince chatted with the people, shook hands, and waved to the crowds.
The visit was Harry’s first “official” visit to Oz. The young prince is helping his 87-year-old grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II strengthen ties with Australia.
Harry has made the long trek to Australia before. In 2003, he spent his gap-year break working on an outback ranch.
