Ja Rule has decided to write a cookbook about microwave cuisine after preparing most of his food using one while in prison.
The rapper appeared on the SiriusXM show Food Talk with Geoffrey Zakarian for Wednesday's episode, Page Six reports.
A source who was at the taping said that Ja Rule “explained that while behind bars he learned to cook anything and everything in a microwave,” and wants to write a book about it. Ja Rule mentioned he made such dishes as lasagna and cheesecake while in jail.
According to TIME, the 37-year-old was not a fan of the food served in prison and decided to make his own meals. A microwave was available to use and so the rapper made due.
Ja Rule spent two years in prison for tax evasion and criminal possession of a weapon and was released earlier this year. Unlike the cliché of coming out of prison all muscled and buff, the rapper claimed that he gained 30 pounds while in jail.
