Miles has been taken into a room at the war clan’s camp because his blood type was a match for the female patient. The patient turns out to be the wife of Titus Andover and she needs O negative blood in order to survive. When Rachel and her father help Miles escape, they also take Titus Andover’s wife as leverage.
Tom and Jason Neville join the Patriots under an alias, but they are soon found out. The recruiter knows that Tom Neville served under Monroe and wants to know how his loyalties can shift so rapidly. In typical fashion, Tom confesses that he doesn’t care whose side he’s on, but is only concerned with avenging his wife’s death, believing it was Monroe, not Randall, who bombed Atlanta. He leaves Jason with the US government officials in exchange for his own release.
Titus comes to Willoughby with an army to reclaim his wife. His wife is being cared for at Rachel’s father’s house and she begs Rachel to let her die. Titus began capturing people to supply her with blood when she first became ill, but she had already made her peace with death and knows that her husband is a malicious tyrant. In order to save the townspeople, Miles agrees to surrender himself and the wife to Titus in exchange for safe passage to the entire town’s population as they escape and flee.
Meanwhile, Charlie and the bounty hunter are still looking to recapture Monroe. There are definite sparks as the two search for Monroe, but he finds them first. He knocks out the bounty hunter and shows Charlie that an arrest warrant has been issued by the US government for him and Charlie’s mother, Rachel Matheson. Monroe offers his help for the Mathesons to avoid arrest and an uneasy truce is agreed upon as Charlie and Monroe take on a mutual enemy—the US government.
Back at Willoughby, the entire town is preparing to evacuate. The wagons are loaded and ready to go when Rachel discovers that Titus’s wife has committed suicide. They decide to keep it quiet so that the people can get a head start before Titus discovers his wife is dead. However, a member of the war clan is able to sneak into the compound and carry the news back to Titus. When the townspeople open the gates to leave, the war clan attacks and sends the people running for cover.
During the attack, Aaron is trapped in a storage area, Rachel is shot with an arrow, and Miles is fighting off three people at once. Titus is taken down by a member of his own ranks, who it turns out also works for the US government. Just when all hope is lost, the war clan is gunned down by soldiers with automatic weapons. The US military marches in and claims Willoughby, Texas, for America.
